This is a remote position within our Consultancy+ workforce in the Tampa Bay area, with travel as needed to support DoD, Federal Civilian, and commercial customers.

As a Senior Acquisition Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will support government system acquisition program management offices, serving as a trusted adviser to senior government personnel. Responsibilities include planning, executing, overseeing acquisition programs, organizing, training, and leading a support team. You will engage with senior government officials, deliver briefings, and lead large meetings.

The ideal candidate will have experience in DoD Weapon System acquisitions and hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance. Experience supporting SOCOM is highly valued. We seek a versatile individual with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. The role requires strong multitasking skills and flexibility to support multiple clients.

Key responsibilities include providing acquisition management support to ensure effective and efficient service delivery aligned with the customer’s mission.

In this role you will:
  1. Provide leadership, analytical support, and tactical SME expertise to acquisition and contracting initiatives.
  2. Contribute to strategic planning, policy and process development, business process improvements, and compliance review.
  3. Support customers in reviewing and updating DoD acquisition and contracting products/policies.
  4. Deliver briefings, facilitate meetings, and support workshops.
  5. Assist in proposal development with SME expertise.
  6. Oversee project execution.
Qualifications

To succeed, you must have:

  • An active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • A Master’s degree with at least 15 years of related acquisition/program management experience, including 10 years in leadership.
  • Extensive knowledge of Navy and/or Air Force program management and contracting policies, including application to weapon systems development, production, and fielding.
  • Experience with Defense Acquisition management processes per DoD 5000 series directives.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Leadership skills for complex project completion.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25%.
Additional desired experience and skills:
  • Leading Major Platform Acquisition and Modernization programs.
  • Experience with Service level staff organizations.
  • Experience supporting SOCOM-AT&L.
  • Familiarity with JCIDS or PPBS processes.
  • Broad experience in program management strategies and funding communication with mid- and senior-level Service and OSD personnel.
