Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation, a trusted partner to the nation’s space programs, seeks a Senior Acquisition and Systems Engineer to join a team delivering pre-acquisition planning and systems engineering expertise for space programs. This onsite role supports DoD and civil/commercial customers, with a focus on requirements engineering, verification, and lifecycle planning.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s in engineering or related field, 10–15+ years of experience, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required (Master’s preferred).
• 10–15+ years of related experience in acquisition and systems engineering.
• Experience with requirements and verification, including requirements management.
• Strong understanding of DoD compliance and Agile/DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering and acquisition support for national security space and customers.
• Create and review RFPs, CDRLs, PWSs, SOOs, and SOWs.
• Lead teams focused on requirements engineering and analysis for program offices.
• Develop and manage requirements, TRDs, and RTM updates to ensure testability.
• Participate in lifecycle reviews, audits, milestones, and risk assessments.
• Mentor staff in lifecycle acquisition and systems engineering.
