Job summary

The TemPositions Group is seeking a Sr. Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing finance team in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage the full AR lifecycle, drive collections, resolve disputes, and partner with internal teams to improve cash flow while maintaining exceptional client relationships. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of AR and commercial collections experience, with strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate customer records and collection documentation.
• Prioritize high-risk accounts and negotiate payment arrangements.
• Escalate accounts requiring legal review or management attention.
• Reconcile customer accounts and research unapplied cash, short payments, and deductions.
• Develop and execute collection strategies to reduce delinquent balances.

Are you an experienced Accounts Receivable/B2B Collections professional with a strong background in commercial collections and customer account management? We are seeking a Sr. Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will manage the full accounts receivable lifecycle, drive collection efforts, resolve customer disputes, and partner with internal teams to improve cash flow while maintaining exceptional customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Invoicing & Billing.
• Cash Application.
• Collections.
• Credit Management.
• Aging Reports.
• Maintain positive relationships with B2B clients to encourage timely payment.
• Independently manage a portfolio of at least 300 B2B customer accounts.
• Perform daily collections through phone calls, emails, and customer follow-up.
• Develop and execute collection strategies to reduce delinquent balances and minimize bad debt.
• Prioritize high-risk and aging accounts to maximize cash collections.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and repayment plans when appropriate.
• Escalate accounts requiring legal review or additional management attention.
• Investigate and resolve customer disputes by partnering with Billing, Sales, Operations, and Branch Management.
• Reconcile customer accounts, research unapplied cash, short payments, deductions, and payment discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate customer records, payment commitments, and collection documentation.
• Prepare and analyze aging reports and collection metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
• Experience preparing and presenting AR reports to Sales and other managers.
• Minimum of 5 years of Accounts Receivable and commercial collections experience.
• Experience within construction, equipment rental, industrial services, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, collections, credit risk, dispute resolution, and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
