Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist for a local government organization in Virginia. You will manage complex AP tasks, ensure timely and compliant payment processing, and act as a senior resource for escalated invoice issues and vendor inquiries.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of AP experience, proficient in high-volume processing, PO matching, reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, code, and process high-volume invoices and payment requests.
• Perform purchase order matching and account reconciliations.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and outstanding transactions.
• Serve as a primary contact for vendor and internal department payment inquiries.
• Process vendor payments through checks, ACH, and other approved methods.
• Support month-end and fiscal year-end close activities and audits.
• Maintain compliance with accounting, purchasing, and internal control procedures.
• Provide guidance to AP staff and identify opportunities to improve processes and workflow efficiency.
