Job summary

Trean Corporation seeks a Business Analyst III focused on accounting operations to translate evolving business needs into practical ERP/EPM solutions. You will document requirements, assess impact of changes, and ensure alignment between business goals and technology.

The role blends strategic insight with hands-on execution, supporting end-to-end accounting workflows and cross-functional collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting financial projects or in a similar role, preferably in a finance/businesstransformation project.
• 5+ years of accounting experience within the insurance industry, with strong knowledge of best practices and standards.
• Hands-on experience implementing and/or working with ERP and EPM systems.
• Proven experience supporting IT project execution, including requirements gathering, testing, and implementation.
• Experience working with senior leaders and executive-level stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into practical solutions.
• Experience leading or supporting organizational change management initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; Visio for process mapping preferred.
• Professional certification such as IIBA CBAP or similar is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document and maintain end-to-end accounting workflows, identifying opportunities to drive efficiency through automation and process improvement.
• Develop business cases and project charters with stakeholders to define objectives, scope, and value.
• Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, liaising between business teams and technical resources.
• Maintain end-to-end traceability of requirements across design, testing, training, and implementation.
• Analyze current-state processes and design future-state workflows to drive efficiency.
• Provide guidance on accounting best practices and ERP/EPM usage.
• Facilitate meetings and workshops with executive stakeholders.
• Lead or support organizational change management for new processes and systems.
• Manage multiple projects with varying priorities and deadlines.
• Continuously enhance knowledge through training, research, and professional participation.
