Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Accounting Supervisor to lead accounting operations at a large-scale mining and manufacturing facility in Safford, Arizona. This position is responsible for supervising accounting staff, overseeing financial processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and supporting operational and financial objectives through strong leadership and financial stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily accounting operations and assigned accounting personnel.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cost control initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
• Resolve day-to-day accounting and operational issues while providing guidance to team members.
• Partner with operational departments to support financial planning and decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Support audits and other financial reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 9+ years of accounting experience, including advanced accounting or finance training; OR
• Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 7+ years of accounting experience; OR
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 5+ years of accounting experience, including supervisory or lead experience; OR
• Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 3+ years of accounting experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing budgets and financial resources.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in mining, manufacturing, industrial, or large-scale operational environments.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and operational finance.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and stakeholders.
