Job summary

AACSB is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist in Tampa, FL to join our Accounting Department. This non-exempt, hourly role provides hands‑on support for general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, tax documentation, and billing support, reporting to the Manager of Accounting.

You will work within established processes to ensure financial accuracy, participate in revenue accounting, and contribute to financial reporting while collaborating with a team in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• At least three (3) years’ accounting experience with GL and month-end close.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Proficiency in MS 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications.
• Complete account reconciliations and assist with month-end close, financial reporting, and audits.
• Prepare revenue schedules and deferred revenue entries.
• Monitor prepaid expenses and fixed asset schedules.
• Process cash activity and support reconciliations and admin tasks.
• Maintain accounting procedures and assist with tax filings (1099, W8/W9, 990, FBAR).
• Assist with system testing and data validation during implementations.
• Support billing team to resolve member billing discrepancies.
• Contribute to overall mission and values of AACSB.
