Job summary

AACSB, the world’s standard-setting body for business education, seeks a Senior Accounting Specialist to join the Accounting Department in a hands-on role. You will support general ledger activity, month-end close tasks, tax preparation, and billing support with strong accuracy and collaborative teamwork.

The role emphasizes execution, documentation, and adherence to GAAP, working within established processes and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience with reconciliations and journal entries.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Proficient in MS 365 applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications; review GL activity for accuracy.
• Complete account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and assist with month-end close and reporting.
• Prepare revenue schedules and deferred revenue entries under established policies.
• Monitor prepaid expenses and maintain fixed asset schedules.
• Process cash activity, ACH and wire transactions; assist with bank and card reconciliations.
• Maintain accounting procedures and serve as a resource on processes and best practices.
• Assist with tax documentation and filings (1099, W8, W9, 990, FBAR).
• Assist with system testing and data validation during implementations; identify process improvements.
• Support resolution of member billing discrepancies with the billing team.
• Perform duties in line with AACSB International’s Mission and Values.
