Job summary

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. in Maumee, OH seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the monthly close, GL activities, and payroll coordination. You will provide financial insight across departments and ensure accurate reporting for multiple entities.

Reporting to the Controller, you will guide accounting operations, drive efficiency, and support audits and cash flow forecasting. A CPA/MBA and 3+ years in management are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA & MBA preferred.
• 7-15 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years as Accounting Manager.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• AEC industry background strongly preferred.
• Deltek software experience required (VantagePoint, Vision, Costpoint, and/or Ajera).
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, WIP, and ASC 606 & 842.
• Overhead Rate Audit & FAR Part 31 experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger activities, journals, and period-end adjustments.
• Manage accounts receivable, invoicing accuracy, aging review, collections issues.
• Coordinate payroll administration with external processor and allocate labor costs to projects.
• Support internal and external audit activities, including FAR compliance and schedules.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and collaboration with accounting leadership.
• Partner with Controller to support day-to-day accounting operations.
• Manage accounting across multiple entities and project segments.
• Ensure accurate project costing and cost allocations for reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls.
