Job summary

FinanceWithin is seeking a Sr. Accounting Manager to lead a pod of accounting professionals delivering weekly and monthly financial reporting for a portfolio of ecommerce clients.

The role requires 5+ years of full-cycle accounting, strong leadership, GAAP expertise, and hands-on experience with QBO, NetSuite, Xero, and Shopify. This is a remote-capable role within a fast-paced consulting environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting.
• 2+ years of experience in a multi-client or consulting role.
• 2+ years of experience leading a team.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
• Advanced level expertise in QBO and Excel.
• NetSuite and Xero experience is a huge advantage.
• Experience with e-commerce clients is required.
• Experience reconciling Shopify, PayPal, Bill.com, etc. is required.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and how to evaluate them.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time in a remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close and all key accounting activities for your pod.
• Review management reports with key metrics and reconcile balance sheets.
• Oversee inventory management including reconciliations and obsolescence adjustments.
• Review accounts receivable processing and aging reports.
• Review accounts payable processing and aging reports and bill payments.
• Review payroll processing including journal entries and accruals.
• Provide ad hoc reports or details as requested.
• Oversee client communications and serve as escalation point.
• Supervise and train team on client and administrative duties.
• Help develop SOPs and training documents.
• Manage budget for your pod.
• Maintain clean files and document storage.
• Participate in Training as directed.
• Contribute to internal team as a thought partner.

About The Role

As a Sr. Accounting Manager, you will oversee a pod of Accounting Managers, bookkeepers and a book of clients. You will be the main support and direction for your team so it is imperative that you are an outstanding communicator and have strong business acumen paired with Accounting Expertise. You will be responsible for the timely delivery of weekly and monthly financial reporting to clients via your team and will serve as an escalation point and thought partner for your clients. You will be responsible for the accuracy of the data presented and are the last stop for quality control of deliverables. The most successful candidate will be a proven leader and will have a strong background in a multi-client environment, e-commerce, and be extremely tech savvy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close and all key accounting-related activities for your pod Financial Package Review: Reviewing Management Reports with Key Metrics Accounting Package Review: Ensuring proper reconciliations for ALL balance sheet accounts and trend analysis for both the balance sheet and P&L
• Inventory Management Review: including reconciling inventory (Physical, Sub to GL), Inventory write off and Obsolescence adjustments, and reviewing individual product costs and ensuring accuracy in inventory software and systems.
• Review Accounts Receivable processing and aging reports (no collections)
• Review Accounts Payable processing and aging reports and bill payments in Bill.com (or related software) for clients
• Review Payroll Processing including journal entries and accruals
• Provide ad hoc reports or details as requested
• Oversee client communications and serve as an escalation point
• Supervise and train team on client and administrative duties
• Help develop SOPs and training documents
