Job summary

Suna Solutions is seeking a Technical Accounting Senior Manager to serve as a subject-matter expert on complex accounting matters under U.S. GAAP.

You will research and document accounting positions, collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and leadership, and ensure filings and disclosures are accurate, complete, and audit-ready. You will lead technical accounting analyses, memos, and controls, monitor new pronouncements, and support Form 10-Q/10-K workpapers.

Qualifications

Join a leading fintech organization as a Technical Accounting Senior Manager and serve as a subject-matter expert on complex, non-recurring, and emerging accounting matters.

In this role, you will research and document accounting positions under U.S. GAAP, collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and business leadership, and help ensure financial statements and disclosures are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.

Reporting to the Technical Accounting & External Reporting leadership team, you will work closely with the Corporate Controller organization and play a key role in supporting technical accounting, external reporting, internal controls, and strategic business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate the accounting impact of new or non-recurring transactions that are significant or may have a material impact on the Company's financial statements.
• Prepare well-supported technical accounting memos documenting accounting conclusions for review by the Head of Financial Reporting and SOX PMO.
• Monitor and assess new and emerging accounting pronouncements, including ASUs and SEC guidance.
• Maintain accounting policies and lead the implementation of significant accounting changes.
• Leverage Big Four accounting research tools, technical resources, and training to support accounting conclusions.
• Prepare technical accounting analyses and memoranda covering areas such as revenue, stock-based compensation, leases, EPS, debt, equity, investments, and other complex accounting matters.
• Serve as the technical accounting reviewer and approver for the Chart of Accounts creation and maintenance process, ensuring accurate account mappings and financial statement alignment.
• Support the preparation and review of workpapers underlying Form 10-Q and Form 10-K filings, including EPS, stock-based compensation, and other non-routine transactions.
• Own and operate key SOX controls within assigned areas and coordinate with external auditors on walkthroughs, requests, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain comprehensive, audit-ready documentation and ensure controls and accounting conclusions are appropriately supported.
• Partner with the compensation team to forecast stock-based compensation expenses.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and business teams to evaluate the accounting and reporting implications of new transactions and strategic initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Active CPA license required.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant Big Four public accounting experience. Technical accounting or national office experience is a plus.
• Strong and current knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to research complex technical accounting issues and develop clear, well-supported accounting position papers and memos.
• Experience with technical accounting matters including:
• Stock-based compensation (ASC 718)
• Leases (ASC 842)
• Revenue recognition (ASC 606)
• Debt and equity
• Business combinations
• Public company experience with a strong understanding of SOX internal controls and the external audit process.
• Fintech or SaaS industry experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or Oracle and Workiva preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced financial close environment with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and autonomy.
