Outmarket is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager / Controller to build and own the accounting function as the company scales in the AI era. You’ll own the close, develop robust systems, and create reporting foundations for confident growth.

You will partner with leadership to automate workflows, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and establish strong internal controls while hiring and mentoring the accounting team. Remote-first environment with equity opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, SaaS/high-growth experience ideal.
• Strong command of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with GAAP-compliant financials.
• Maintain a clean general ledger with scalable account coding.
• Run AP/AR end-to-end including invoicing, collections, and expenses.
• Manage tax compliance and filings; liaise with external auditors and partners.
• Build internal controls and prepare for audit readiness.
• Define and manage the AI-native finance tool stack and automate workflows.
• Hire, mentor, and scale the accounting team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring our first Senior Accounting Manager / Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and build the financial infrastructure the company runs on. This is a foundational role for someone who can own the close, build strong systems and controls, and create the reporting foundation that helps take the company from startup to category leader.

You will report to the Head of Finance & Strategy and work closely with finance and leadership. You will own the numbers and the processes behind them, making sure the company can move quickly with confidence in its financial reporting, internal controls, and operating discipline.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, and deliver timely, GAAP-compliant financials that are board- and investor-ready, including ownership of revenue recognition for subscription and usage based

• Maintain a clean, well-documented general ledger with account coding that scales as the business grows.

• Run (and partially automate) AP and AR end to end, including customer invoicing, collections, and expense management.

• Manage tax compliance and filings, and own relationships with external audit, tax, and legal partners.

• Build and enforce internal controls, and prepare the company to be audit-ready ahead of future financing rounds and a first external audit.

• Define and own the AI-native finance tool stack, evaluating and selecting the right systems while identifying where AI can automate and improve workflows.

• Hire, mentor, and build the accounting team as the function scales.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA strongly preferred.

• 5 to 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a high-growth SaaS company

• Strong command of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls, including ASC 606 revenue recognition and deferred revenue for subscription & usage businesses.

• Experience managing month-end close and preparing financial statements, and experience in completing audits.

• Ability to build sophisticated financial models, automate workflows, and work comfortably with large datasets.

• A proven track record of building accounting processes in an early-stage environment.
