Job summary

Steadfast Executive Search LLC is seeking an accomplished accounting leader in Orlando to partner with the CFO. This on-site role blends strategic oversight with day-to-day accounting leadership and direct exposure to executive leadership.

You will have 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, ERP familiarity, and a proven ability to mentor staff and drive process improvements in project-based environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership/mentoring.
• Experience in project-based environments and WIP/job cost accounting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, and internal controls.
• ERP system experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and key accounting activities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Oversee job-level financial tracking, including WIP and project cost analysis.
• Analyze financial results and provide insight into operational trends and business performance.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial processes.
• Support audit and compliance activities.

Compensation: $140,000–$160,000 Base Salary + Bonus Opportunity

Steadfast Executive Search has been engaged by a well-established, service-based organization in the Orlando market to identify a hands-on accounting leader who will serve as a trusted business partner to the CFO, providing both strategic insight and day-to-day accounting leadership.

The organization is part of a larger, financially strong, multi-billion-dollar enterprise, offering the stability, resources, and reporting sophistication of a much larger company while maintaining the visibility and accessibility of a local operating business.

This highly visible, fully on-site leadership role offers direct exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to influence financial reporting, operational decision-making, process improvement initiatives, and the organization's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience leading, mentoring, or supervising accounting staff.
• Experience in construction, specialty contracting, mechanical services, manufacturing, engineering, or other project-based and operationally intensive environments is strongly preferred.
• Experience with work-in-progress (WIP), job cost accounting, project accounting, percentage-of-completion accounting, or similar operational accounting environments is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• ERP system experience required.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both strategically and hands-on in a collaborative, operationally focused environment.
• Candidates must be comfortable working on-site full-time in the Orlando area.
• Base salary generally targeted between $140,000–$160,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with the position.
• Bonus opportunity based on company and individual performance.
