Role Overview: Senior Accounting Manager

We are hiring a Senior Accounting Manager to directly lead and execute core accounting functions across both Modern Chemical and Commercial Brands. This is not a high-level oversight role. You will be in the trenches, owning the numbers, actively reconciling accounts, preparing audit materials, and building financial systems. You will work side-by-side with our controller and COO to ensure precision, accountability, and visibility in all aspects of financial reporting and operations.

This role demands strong technical skill, a hands-on approach, and a strategic mindset. You will quarterback the month-end close and guide the accounting staff by example—not from the sidelines. Key Responsibilities

Intercompany Accounting & Strategic Alignment

• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions with precision, ensuring they align with broader corporate strategy and profitability targets.
• Create, document, and enforce clear policies for intercompany accounting that support financial clarity and scalable operations.

Audit Preparation & Compliance

• Lead full audit preparation: gathering documentation, ensuring completeness, and communicating directly with external auditors.
• Anticipate compliance gaps, implement controls, and ensure year-round audit readiness.
• Drive month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting cycles—accurately, on time, and with full visibility to leadership.
• Strengthen internal controls, ensure GL accuracy, and proactively identify risks.
• Provide actionable insights and margin analysis to inform pricing, operations, and investment decisions.

Team Execution & Development

• Lead staff accountants by example—delegating strategically but taking ownership of execution when necessary.
• Monitor performance across accuracy, timeliness, reconciliation quality, and ERP progress.
• Cultivate a performance-driven culture that values clarity, accountability, and urgency.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a senior role with direct team oversight.
• Deep expertise in intercompany accounting, audits.
• Hands-on experience managing close processes, financial reporting, and cross-functional communication.
• Strong work ethic and personal accountability—comfortable doing the work, not just managing it.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team.
