Job summary

Plains seeks a Senior Associate, Accounting in Houston to partner with marketing and finance teams, preparing and analyzing financial data to support reporting. You will own journal entries, account reconciliations, and inventory accounting, while contributing to special projects and process improvements.

This role requires accuracy, collaboration and proactive problem solving in a fast-paced midstream environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting.
• 1–3 years of public accounting or financial accounting experience.
• Proficient with MS Office, including advanced Excel.
• Experience with AI and automation tools.
• Understanding of midstream oil and gas industry preferred.
• Oracle experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and self-review journal entries.
• Analyze operational financial data for accurate accounting.
• Compile account reconciliation packages and tie-out.
• Perform monthly inventory accounting.
• Support financial reporting, tax and audits.
• Contribute to process improvements in Crude Oil Accounting.
