Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
  • 7+ years progressive accounting and financial management experience.
  • Controller or senior-level experience preferred.
  • Strong GAAP, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow knowledge.
  • Experience overseeing multi-entity accounting and multi-location operations.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting & Finance Manager / Controller to lead the financial operations of a diverse, multi-entity organization spanning hospitality, retail, service businesses, food brokerage, and real estate.

This is a hands-on, senior-level role responsible for accounting, financial reporting, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, payroll oversight, tax compliance, and financial analysis across multiple operating entities.

The successful candidate will work closely with ownership and senior management to improve profitability, strengthen financial controls and reporting, manage cash effectively, and evaluate new business and investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee accounting and financial operations across multiple businesses and legal entities.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Monitor revenue, margins, labor, inventory, operating expenses, and other key performance indicators.
  • Analyze actual results against budget and prior periods, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide ownership and management with actionable financial insights to improve profitability and control costs.
  • Manage short- and long-term cash requirements and working capital.
Accounting Operations & Controls
  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and accounting close activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Strengthen processes for cash management, credit, purchasing, inventory, and asset protection.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate controls and improvements.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax professionals, and other financial advisors.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Analysis
  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
  • Develop financial models and projections to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Evaluate the financial performance and economics of existing businesses.
  • Analyze the financial feasibility of acquisitions, expansions, investments, startups, and other new business opportunities.
  • Partner with ownership and leadership to develop financial plans and performance expectations for new ventures.
Payroll & Compliance
  • Oversee payroll processing, payroll accounting, payroll tax reporting, and related compliance.
  • Oversee accounting for employee benefits and related expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Business Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO, ownership, and operating leadership.
  • Translate financial results into clear, practical recommendations for non-financial managers.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve accountability, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
  • Support the financial and operational development of new and existing businesses.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
  • Prior experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar senior-level role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Experience managing accounting for multiple entities, locations, or business units.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger, AP, AR, reconciliations, payroll, and financial close processes.
  • Experience establishing and improving internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with accounting/ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to ownership, executives, and operating managers.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Multi-unit restaurant or hospitality accounting.
