Senior Accounting Consultant

We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Accounting Consultant position with a professional services company located in Boston,MA. The Senior Accounting Consultant will support general accounting operations during a Sage Intacct implementation while providing temporary coverage for the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have 5–6+ years of accounting experience, including strong general ledger, month‑end close, and account reconciliation experience, along with at least 2 years of hands‑on Sage Intacct experience.

This is a 4-month contract position paying $55–$60/hour, depending on experience. The Senior Accounting Consultant will work 40 hours per week and may work onsiteor remotely.

Remote candidates must be located in the Eastern Time Zone (ET).

Responsibilities

• Support general ledger accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and research and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with month‑end close activities, schedules, and related accounting processes.
• Review subledger and general ledger activity and resolve variances.
• Provide hands‑on Sage Intacct support throughout and following the system implementation.
• Assist with system testing, transaction validation, and accounting‑related troubleshooting.
• Maintain day‑to‑day accounting operations while providing temporary team coverage.
• Partner with finance and implementation teams to identify and resolve process and system issues.
• Support process improvements and help maintain accurate financial data and internal controls.

Qualifications

• 5–6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2+ years of hands‑on Sage Intacct experience required.
• Strong general ledger, month‑end close, and account reconciliation experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Ability to independently research, identify, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• ERP implementation or system transition experience preferred.
• Professional services, IT services, or similar industry experience preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
