Job summary

The Illinois Department of Early Childhood (IDEC) is seeking to hire a General Accounting Manager to direct daily financial processing and reconciliations, ensure budget alignment and fiscal compliance, and lead a team toward continuous quality improvement and staff development. Requires four-year college education in accounting/finance and 3 years of progressive accounting

Qualifications

• Requires four-year college education with courses in accounting, business administration, or finance.
• Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in accounting, business administration, or finance.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day financial processing and reconciliations across all accounting activities.
• Plans, monitors, and collaborates to maintain budget alignment and fiscal compliance.
• Fosters continuous quality improvement and staff development within the fiscal team.
• Participates in internal/external meetings and supports other fiscal sections as needed.
• Performs other duties as required within the scope of the role.
