Job summary

Mercor is hiring a senior accounting and audit domain expert to work with a leading AI lab’s research and program management teams. You will review accounting knowledge work tasks, write instruction specs and golden solutions, and build benchmarks to measure model improvements.

This is a full-time W-2 role via Cincinnatus LLC, with on-site work in the Bay Area. You will live in the Bay Area and work onsite multiple days weekly; relocation at your own cost is required as this is not a remote

Qualifications

• Active CPA/CA/CFE/CMA or equivalent credential with a degreed background in accounting or related field.
• Minimum 4+ years of substantive accounting or audit experience at a recognized institution.
• Deep domain expertise in at least one area (external audit, GAAP/IFRS, SOX, revenue recognition, or tax).
• Senior-level progression with ownership of engagements or reporting cycles.
• Ability to work with AI tools and evaluate model outputs in accounting tasks.
• Location in the Bay Area and willingness to relocate at your own cost.

Responsibilities

• Data QA and reviews: Vet the quality of accounting and audit knowledge work tasks and model outputs.
• Instruction specs and golden datasets: Write instruction specs, produce golden solutions, define new tasks.
• Benchmarks and domain depth: Design challenging accounting tasks and evaluation sets with the research team.
• Calibration: Align standards with client researchers and translate accounting judgment into explicit criteria.
