Job summary

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR division, in Denton, TX, seeks an accounting professional to support budgeting, forecasting, month‑end close, and internal controls. You will prepare journal entries, analyze key accounts, and provide timely financial data to management.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 3+ years of experience are required. SAP experience and cost/accounting background are preferred. No travel is expected; join a manufacturing finance team focused on accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with annual operating budgets and forecasts with operations managers.
• Assist in monthly forecasts and month-end close activities.
• Prepare and review journal entries and key account analyses.
• Ensure internal controls compliance with Sarbanes–Oxley Act.
• Provide monthly financial data to management.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and bi-annual physical inventories.
• Participate in special projects as needed.
• No travel is expected.

Requisition Summary

This position will be expected to perform a variety of financial analysis and cost accounting activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budgets and partner with operations department managers to ensure budgets and forecasts are achieved
• Assist in preparation of monthly forecasts
• Participate in month‑end closing duties, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, analyzing key accounts and reporting results to the financial reporting group
• Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations
• Ensure proper internal controls are in place and perform tests to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes‑Oxley Act
• Provide pertinent financial / accounting data to management on a monthly basis
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation based on performance of interim inventories, factor reviews, and assistance in planning and executing a bi‑annual physical inventory
• Participate with special projects as required
• No travel is to be expected with this role

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Required
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting Required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP, Manufacturing Accounting
• CPA Certified
• Public accounting and/or Cost Accounting experience
