Job summary

PACCAR Engine Company is seeking a Financial Analyst to oversee daily accounting activities related to new engine program development. The role involves cost management, forecasting, and reporting in a fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project cost management services including cost estimates and invoice analysis.
  • Prepare management reports and financial commentary for senior management.
  • Lead Month-End Close activities for timely and accurate reporting.
  • Forecast plant-related activities and monitor variances.
  • Participate in internal control reviews, including SOX documentation and testing.
  • Support plant accounting processes and inventory counts.

Requisition Summary

The Financial Analyst is responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operations and other accounting activities related to new engine program development. This position performs a variety of accounting activities under minimal supervision to ensure timely and accurate financial statements and management reporting. This position will be working in a fast‑paced environment and has daily interaction with Senior Management.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Provide project cost management services such as cost estimates and invoice analysis
  • Prepare various management reports, financial comments and provide any key data as requested.
  • Responsible for Month‑End Close Activities for timely and accurate reporting.
  • Manage forecast for plant‑related activities.
  • Participate in internal control reviews, including Sarbanes Oxley documentation and testing.
  • Participate/assist in projects related to plant accounting processes.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts, quarterly statistical audits and cycle counts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies and keep accounting procedures updated.
  • Contribute to plant continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain effective oral and written communications, externally and internally.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree in Accounting required. CPA/CMA or Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Accounting required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong collaboration, analytical and accounting skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong Excel and Access skills required.
  • SAP/ERP system experience preferred.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously within specific deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with a high level of difficulty.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be results‑oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be a hands‑on self‑starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Must be able to work with all employee levels, including senior management.
