Job description

Help Shape the Financial Future of Behavioral Health

Are you an experienced accounting professional who enjoys going beyond the numbers? Do you have a strong understanding of financial analysis, compliance, grants, reimbursement, and the operational side of healthcare or behavioral health?

Riverbend Community Mental Health is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused Senior Accounting Analyst to join our Finance team and play a critical role in supporting the financial health, compliance, and long-term sustainability of our organization.

This is an opportunity to bring your accounting expertise into a mission-driven environment where financial stewardship directly supports access to behavioral health services and strengthens the communities we serve.

As a Senior Accounting Analyst, you will serve as a key financial resource across the organization, supporting complex accounting functions, financial reporting, CCBHC reimbursement methodologies, grant accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance. You will help ensure that Riverbend's financial practices remain accurate, efficient, compliant, and aligned with the evolving requirements of a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).

This position is ideal for an accounting professional who is naturally curious, enjoys solving complex problems, can translate financial information into meaningful business insights, and wants to have a broader organizational impact.

This is a 100% on-site position located at our Concord, NH office. Due to the nature and operational responsibilities of this role, remote work or hybrid scheduling is not available.

Why Join Us?

CCBHC operations bring together complex reimbursement methodologies, grant requirements, healthcare regulations, cost allocation, financial reporting, and organizational performance. As our Senior Accounting Analyst, you will help connect those pieces.

Your work will help leadership understand financial trends, optimize resources, strengthen internal controls, maximize appropriate reimbursement, maintain grant compliance, and make informed decisions about programs, staffing, services, and future growth. You won't simply be reporting what happened financially—you'll help explain why it happened, identify opportunities, and help determine what comes next.

If you’re looking for meaningful work, a strong team culture, and real opportunities for professional growth through training, certifications, and advancement—Riverbend is the place to build your future while making a difference.

What You’ll Do

  • Support CCBHC Financial Compliance & Reimbursement – Manage financial data, reporting, and documentation supporting CCBHC certification, Medicaid/PPS reimbursement, grants, and regulatory requirements.

  • Analyze Financial Performance – Evaluate financial trends, variances, service-line costs, reimbursement, and expenditures to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost containment, and sustainability.

  • Drive Strategic Financial Planning – Develop financial models, forecasts, and ad hoc analyses to support workforce planning, service expansion, reimbursement optimization, and organizational decision‑making.

  • Ensure Accurate Accounting & Reporting – Perform complex reconciliations, support monthly and annual close processes, and prepare financial schedules and reports across organizational, CCBHC, and grant functions.

  • Strengthen Compliance & Internal Controls – Support compliance with GAAP, CCBHC requirements, 2 CFR Part 200, Medicaid PPS, and federal/state grant regulations while preparing for audits and financial reviews.

  • Improve Financial Systems & Processes – Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate manual processes, improve data integrity, and optimize accounting systems to meet evolving CCBHC needs.

  • Partner Across the Organization – Collaborate with Finance and program leadership to translate complex financial information into actionable insights and support informed operational decisions.

  • Provide Technical Leadership – Mentor accounting staff, provide technical guidance, and contribute to finance‑related projects and organizational initiatives.
