Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior Accountant – U.S. Statutory Reporting to oversee accurate financial reporting for the U.S. operations in line with IFRS and US GAAP where applicable.

You will manage month-end close, general ledger maintenance, statutory filings, and system improvements. You will collaborate with Payroll, Project Accounting and Shared Services, lead multi-currency transactions, and review reconciliations using Oracle GBS/EPM FCC or similar ERP. The role reports to the U.S.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in public accounting or a mix of public and industry accounting, ideally in the construction or engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting principles.
  • Experience in statutory reporting, financial audits, and working in an international, multi-currency environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and support the month-end closing process, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and other closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
  • Analyze the U.S. Burden to ensure accurate accounting treatment in IFRS, and forecast the Burden Cost.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Project Accountants, and the Statutory Accounting team to drive Burden process improvements.
  • Manage multi-currency transactions, ensuring accurate conversion and compliance with applicable financial regulations.
  • Utilize Oracle GBS/Oracle EPM FCC or other ERP systems for managing financial data and reporting.
  • Review account reconciliations prepared by Shared Services and provide feedback to ensure alignment with accounting standards.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of general ledger accounts; prepare necessary journal entries and corrections.
  • Collaborate with Project Accountants to resolve project-related accounting issues and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Provide guidance and document technical accounting matters (revenue recognition, leases), ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Manage annual statutory reporting and financial audits and liaise with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance of global accounting policies and procedures, providing guidance on their application to the US region.
  • Support the U.S. Controller in special projects and strategic initiatives.

Purpose

At Worley, the Senior Accountant – U.S. Statutory Reporting plays a key role in overseeing accurate and compliant financial reporting for the U.S. operations, in line with IFRS standards. This position supports critical financial processes including month-end close, general ledger maintenance, statutory filings, technical accounting and system improvements. The Senior Accountant will also support process enhancements, manage multi-currency transactions, and collaborate with various internal teams including Payroll, Project Accounting, and Shared Services. Reporting directly to the U.S. Controller, this role is instrumental in driving operational efficiency, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting special projects and audit requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and support the month-end closing process, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and other closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
  • Perform detailed analysis of the U.S. Burden to ensure accurate accounting treatment in compliance with IFRS, as well as forecast the Burden Cost.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Project Accountants, and the Statutory Accounting team to drive process improvements related to the Burden process.
  • Manage multi-currency transactions, ensuring accurate conversion and compliance with applicable financial regulations.

  • Support the U.S. Controller in special projects and strategic initiatives, as needed.
What You Will Bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to create presentations and effectively communicate data insights.
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting focus preferred).
