Job summary

Worley is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst in Anchorage to drive effective financial planning and performance management. You will provide accurate analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and partner with department and business unit managers to enable informed decisions and improve results.

This role reports to the Finance Director. You will lead budget and forecast cycles, analyze variances, and develop insightful reporting packs while leveraging AI-enabled delivery and leading finance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field is required.
  • 5+ years' significant financial experience, majority in Financial Analyst roles.
  • Experience with Oracle EPM, Hyperion Planning, SmartView, FCC, Power BI or equivalent tools.
  • IFRS knowledge and strong accounting fundamentals are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support budget and quarterly forecast processes with data collection, upload, data integrity and validation.
  • Analyze Actuals, Forecasts and Budgets; compare to plan, track KPI trends, overheads and market conditions.
  • Forensically review financials to identify errors and reduce financial impact.
  • Participate in month-end close activities including analysis, journals, and adjustments.
  • Prepare Monthly and Quarterly Business Review report packs.
  • Monitor overhead budgets with variance analysis and risk/opportunity assessment.
  • Maintain high-quality, clear presentations and accurate information dissemination.
  • Support internal control framework and risk assessment across the business.
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses and drive improvements in reporting and performance insights.

Job Title:

As a Principal Financial Analyst, you will drive effective financial planning and performance management by providing accurate analysis, reporting, budgeting and forecasting, while partnering with Department and Business Unit Managers to enable informed decision-making and improve business results.This position will be reporting to the Finance Director.

Management Reporting
  • Lead and support the budget/quarterly forecast processes, including data collection, upload, data integrity and validation.
  • Analysis and interpretation of results including Actuals, Forecasts and Budgets along with comparing budget/forecast to actual, KPI’s, key business drivers and trends, overheads, business development activities and market conditions.
  • Forensically review financials, as needed, to identify and correct accounting errors and reduce future financial impacts.
  • Participate in Month end close activities including financial analysis, Journal entries and any necessary month end adjustments
  • Preparing Monthly & Quarterly Business Review Report Packs
  • Monitoring of overhead budget for functional areas including detailed variance analysis and a view on possible risks and opportunities.
  • Compliance with high quality of presentation, clarification, and accuracy with all information disseminated
  • Drive an effective internal control framework to highlight and manage risk by providing an independent assessment of the health of the business
  • Ad-hoc business analysis as required
  • Assist in developing and implementing effective reporting and analysis to improve understanding of actual and forecast performance, to drive future financial performance.
Business Partnership
  • Work Closely with Finance Business Partner to support Operations and finance function.
  • Identify effective overhead and working capital reporting/analysis to drive productivity.
  • Able to utilize leading indicators across the region to identify opportunities and/or risks.
  • Ensure appropriate accountability and performance standards are met and maintain high levels of confidentiality working with sensitive data.
  • Leverage AI to identify business risks, opportunities, and efficiency improvements.
  • Leverage common system platforms, e.g. Hyperion, Oracle (GBS, EPM).
  • Be a custodian of finance systems and data.
  • Be a Finance super user and be a first point of contact on system related issues.

What you will bring:
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • 5+ years' significant financial experience, majority of this in role as Financial Analyst; minimum 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Expert technical and analytical accounting skills, specifically in the areas of financial modelling and reporting.
  • Experience with Oracle EPM, Hyperion Planning, SmartView, FCC, Power BI or equivalent reporting systems.
  • Expert technical understanding of IFRS or general accounting principles and maintain the highest professional ethics and standards.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts, make decisions based on available information, and use judgment and discretion.
