Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking an accounting professional to play a pivotal role in the monthly and quarterly close. You will support treasury activities, perform bank reconciliations, and drive improvements across the general ledger.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting with 3–5 years’ general ledger experience; CPA candidate or Master’s degree is desirable. Proficiency in Sage Intacct and Blackline, along with advanced Excel skills, is required.

Responsibilities

• Be a key player in the company’s monthly and quarterly close.
• Support treasury functions by recording treasury activities, performing bank reconciliations, and driving automation and control enhancements.
• Record payroll weekly and reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts; liaise between HR and accounting to code payroll expenses.
• Research, investigate, and report on account variances for monthly fluctuation analysis.
• Prepare corporate accounting schedules for filings and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments.
• Identify opportunities for automation and ledger improvements.
• Ensure compliance with deadlines and complete other duties as assigned.
• Be a proactive team player focused on learning and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Be a key player in the Company’s monthly and quarterly close.
• Support cash functions by recording treasury activities, performing bank reconciliations, and drive automation opportunities and enhancement of controls over cash recordkeeping.
• Record company wide payroll weekly and have responsibility for account reconciliations of all payrollrelated balance sheet accounts. Act as primary liaison between HR and accounting to ensure proper coding of payroll expenses.
• Research, investigate, and report on account variances for monthly fluctuation analysis.
• Prepare corporate accounting schedules required to support quarterly and annual filings and respond in a timely manner to auditor inquiries.
• Work cross-functionally with company departments.
• Identify opportunities for improvement – including the automation of certain tasks and general ledger impactingactivities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting and reporting deadlines.
• Perform other duties and projects assigned.
• Be a team player with a willingness to learn, take on additional tasks, and look for ways to gain efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• 3-5 years ofdemonstrated general ledger accounting experience(public accounting or relevant corporate accounting experience preferred).
• CPA/CPA candidate or Master’s Degree desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow-through on assigned tasks.
• Experience with financial accounting systems (Sage Intacct & Blackline a plus).
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office.
• Proactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet pressing deadlines.
• Team player with a strong work ethic.
