Job summary

The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) seeks an Accountant Supervisor II to oversee all financial activities for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and provide accounting support for the DWSRF and BRF. Expect deep GAAP knowledge, Sage/FMIS experience, and leadership within the WIFA group.

Responsibilities include advanced cost accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with federal/state funds for Maryland water infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting with auditing coursework
• 5+ years of accounting experience applying GAAP to cost, enterprise fund, bond, and loan accounting
• Experience with government or state financing programs is a plus

Responsibilities

• Independently perform advanced cost, enterprise fund, bond, and loan accounting per GAAP.
• Prepare schedules and financial statements for CWSRF/BRF; maintain monthly general ledger.
• Manage bond issuance, linked deposit activity, and financial data reporting using the SAGE system.
• Advise WIFA management on complex financial matters related to CWSRF, DWSRF, BRF.
