Job summary

Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, WA seeks a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting and close processes. You will handle complex general ledger activities, reconciliations, fixed assets, grants, and audit support, working independently with the Controller.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in finance or related field and at least four years of progressively responsible accounting experience, with strong problem-solving and collaboration across Finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• Four years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP platforms and audits.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to explain accounting matters to non-financial colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
• Support monthly and year-end close processes and financial statements.
• Analyze account activity and research unusual transactions.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with grant and restricted-fund accounting and capital projects.
