Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to own key close activities, maintain SOX controls, and deliver timely financial reporting in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other teams to resolve issues, drive process improvements, and support ERP initiatives while upholding ITAR requirements and security clearances where applicable.

Qualifications

• CPA or progress toward CPA
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 4+ years of accounting experience with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Experience with large ERP systems (Oracle Fusion) and core financial tools
• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Proficiency in Excel and strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to work with cross-functional partners
• ITAR: U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and support month-end close
• Review trial balances and intercompany activity for proper classification
• Deliver financial reporting schedules and SEC inputs
• Execute SOX and internal control activities and improvements
• Partner with FP&A, Operations, and others to research issues and enhance processes
• Support internal and external audits and maintain documentation
• Contribute to ERP implementation and integration testing and data validation
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation
• Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting for leadership
• Participate in cross-functional projects and other requests
