Job summary

Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 500 global flooring leader, is seeking a Sr Accountant to manage financial records, prepare statements, and ensure GAAP compliance. This role analyzes financial information, reconciles accounts, and contributes to financial health of the organization.

The Sr Accountant works with cross-functional teams, prepares monthly statements, and supports forecasting, audits, and revenue recognition initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• GAAP knowledge and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance expected.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills required.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• High integrity and discretion when handling confidential data.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Professional experience with SAP systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and GL reconciliations for complex accounts.
• Create and analyze accounting reports and supporting spreadsheets.
• Maintain account information systems per policy.
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members on complex transactions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, ledgers, and schedules.
• Assist with forecasted high risk areas like bad debt reserves and revenue recognition.
• Coordinate with auditors on revenue recognition and reserves matters.
• Ensure documentation and consistency in procedures and internal controls.
• Monitor industry trends to assess impact on revenue and requirements.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience

CPA certification preferred
