Job summary

SCAN Group in Long Beach, CA seeks a Senior Accountant to manage monthly close, reconciliations and financial analysis in a healthcare-focused environment. You will prepare journal entries, ensure GAAP compliance, and support audit and tax processes in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• CPA preferred.
• 5-7 years of related accounting work experience; ideally 2 years with a Big 4 CPA and 2 years in private industry.
• Experience in health plan/healthcare environment is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and account reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records and reconciliations with supporting documentation per GAAP."
• Review departmental Expenditure Tracking Reports and prepare monthly accruals.
• Prepare and record general ledger journal entries including intercompany billing and allocations.
• Participate in monthly close meetings and analyze variances versus budget.
• Assist with interim and year-end audits and tax schedules; escheatment and property filings.
• Support automation and process improvements in reporting.
