Job summary

HeadQuarters is a global start-up partnering with US cannabis companies to provide financial and operations support. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team and manage accounts payable and payroll processes.

You will handle month-end close, reconciliations, and flux analysis, collaborate cross-functionally, and look for process improvements while operating in a fully remote environment with US PST hours (9 am - 5 pm PST).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, focusing on AP, payroll processing, and month-end close.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience with financial systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP) and payroll platforms.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable Management: review invoices and approvals to ensure timely processing; ensure policy compliance; coordinate with internal teams.
• Payroll Processing: record and reconcile payroll transactions for employees and contractors; manage payroll tax calculations and filings.
• Expense & Accrual Accounting: manage payroll-related accruals and monitor expenses; reconcile accrual accounts.
• Month-End Close, Reconciliations & Flux Analysis: perform monthly reconciliations for AP, payroll, accruals; conduct flux analysis.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with HR, Procurement, Operations to resolve financial matters.
• Process Improvement: identify opportunities and implement automation to improve efficiency.
