Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company in Columbus, OH seeks a Senior Accountant on the Reconciliation Performance team. You will prepare and analyze reconciliations for cash, suspense and other balance sheet accounts, collaborating with business partners to resolve items and improve processes.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in accounting, GAAP/STAT knowledge, and a CPA path is preferred. This is a hybrid in Columbus with on-site presence required several days weekly.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in accounting or finance required or preferred.
• CPA progress or designation preferred.
• 2–4 years of related accounting experience.
• GAAP and STAT knowledge required.
• Insurance industry experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepares and analyzes financial documents for assigned areas.
• Reviews reports for accuracy, proper documentation and completeness.
• Maintains accounting records for coordination and submission of reports.
• Develops and submits complex accounting transactions for proper reporting.
• Assists external auditors, IRS and state examiners as needed.
• Participates in system/process improvements and special projects.
