The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 3+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, plus advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, including financial statement prep; property accounting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities

• Review property accounting activities for accuracy and compliance with policies.
• Support month-end close, maintain GL integrity, and meet deadlines.
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement activity.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accurate reporting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to understand financial impact of operations.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc analyses, metrics, and trend reporting for leadership.
• Assist with audits and internal controls documentation.
• Mentor junior staff and support process improvements.
• Handle high volumes of financial data with high accuracy.

Job Responsibilities

• Review property accounting activities for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting policies.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and support the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement activity.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business operations and their financial impact.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial analyses, performance metrics, and trend reporting for leadership.
• Assist with internal and external audits, including compliance and internal control documentation.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and support cross-training and process improvement initiatives.
• Work with large volumes of financial data while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation; property accounting experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience managing high-volume financial transactions and data.
• ERP experience required; Yardi experience is a plus.
