Job summary

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) is seeking a Senior Professional Accountant to join the Bureau of Accounting in Tallahassee. You will audit and process payments for MFMP and related programs, approving invoices in FLAIR and overseeing related financial controls.

Ideal candidates have strong knowledge of Florida accounting policies, extensive reconciliation and reporting skills, and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced government

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Florida accounting policies and procedures.
• Experience with reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Experience in auditing, reviewing, reconciling or analyzing data for regulatory compliance.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate accounting reports.
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Audit and process for payment service and MFMP purchases in MFMP/eProcurement.
• Approve payment of invoices in FLAIR for fuel cards, Goodyear, PRIDE, Seized Tags, FLEET and EMIS.
• Assist with program testing, data analysis, and reporting.
• Resolve PO issues with agency staff and vendors by written correspondence, email or phone.
• Review aged encumbrance reports and close out outstanding POs at year-end.
