Job summary

SAB is seeking a Sr. Accountant to lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a SOX-compliant environment. The ideal candidate has public accounting experience auditing public companies and strong US GAAP knowledge, with desirable biotech/healthcare industry exposure.

Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and control documentation, partnering with cross-functional teams, and supporting SEC reporting and audits. Home office with periodic SAB site travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA designation preferred but not required.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in public accounting auditing publicly traded companies.
• Experience in life sciences/biotech/pharma/medical device industry is highly desirable.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX controls.

Responsibilities

• Own key aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual close to keep GL accurate and SOX-compliant.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to obtain close inputs and record accurate accruals.
• Maintain and improve close checklists, narratives, and control documentation.
• Support SOX walkthroughs, testing, and remediation activities.
• Prepare documentation for quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SEC reporting (Forms 10-Q/10-K).
• Research accounting conclusions for complex or non-routine transactions.
