Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee complex GL accounting for a portfolio of Class A office properties in the DC Metro region. The role supports accounting, audit, tax, and ownership reporting during a temporary leave with a three-month initial assignment and potential extension.

The position follows a hybrid model but is described as fully on-site in Tysons, VA, with a $80/hr pay rate and opportunities for extension based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, with 25 years of relevant accounting or finance experience (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in general ledger accounting and full-cycle accounting for multiple entities or properties.
• Experience preparing financial statements including income statements and balance sheets and reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Responsabilités

• Provide full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of Class A properties in the DC Metro region.
• Create and post month-end journal entries with internal teams to ensure accurate financials.
• Review GL activity for accuracy and proper classification; resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
• Develop and maintain SOX workpapers for internal controls and compliance.
• Draft variance reports explaining property performance vs. budget and prior periods.
