Avant Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, owning key processes for Avant Energy, Avant Operations, and related client engagements.

The role encompasses monthly close, financial reporting, project management system administration, client billing, and coordination with project managers to ensure accurate financial information and timely billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Strong experience with financial reporting and month-end close.
• Proficiency with GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with ERP/time and expense or billing systems.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close and financial reporting for assigned entities and client work.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and support audits and budgeting.
• Oversee projects and engagement financial administration and billing workflows.
• Administer the project management system, including engagement setup, time/expense, and reporting.
• Manage the accounting support team and prioritize deliverables.
• Drive process improvements in accounting, billing, and reporting.
