Job summary

Thermon is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join the San Marcos Accounting & Finance team. In this role, you’ll help ensure accurate financial reporting, support monthly close activities, manage payroll and benefits accounting, and maintain SOX controls in compliance with internal standards.

You’ll collaborate across teams to drive process improvements, handle multi-state tax compliance, and contribute to robust internal controls and accurate financial statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with multi-state sales and use tax returns, including TX & LA.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Office apps.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for audits and SOX controls.
• Manage payroll and benefits accounting for weekly/biweekly cycles.
• Support multi-state tax returns and Avalara compliance.
• Collaborate across teams to improve processes and internal controls.
