MARTA is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to perform complex accounting functions under Senior Cost Analyst supervision, ensuring GAAP compliance and adherence to MARTA policies.

The role involves preparing financial reports, analyzing diverse revenue streams, managing capital and operating expenditures, and supporting management with accurate financial information for strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; five years of professional accounting experience.
• CPA designation or Master’s degree can substitute for one year of experience.
• Strong General Ledger background and solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis to support biweekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
• Record and analyze revenue from multiple sources in compliance with GAAP and MARTA policies.
• Verify disbursements to vendors and maintain contract payment records; lead Accounting Specialists.
• Support payroll accounting for MARTA’s 4,200+ employees, including deductions and tax reporting.
• Analyze complex financial transactions including capital financing, bonds, and pension costs.
• Extract information from Oracle ERP to classify expenditures as capital or operating; maintain fixed assets ledger.
• Research revenue, expense and balance sheet accounts for accuracy.
• Provide analytical support to managers and executives for project costing and financial reporting.
• Process payment batches for payables, risk management and payroll disbursements.
