Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our Finance organization in Hawthorne, CA. You will perform month-end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis while supporting process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree, 4+ years of accounting experience, and CPA or equivalent. The role emphasizes collaboration with Tax, FP&A, and Auditing, ensuring US GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of accounting experience.
• CPA license or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Support inventory, fixed assets, cost accounting, or other specialized areas as assigned.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual divisional balance sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with accounting staff to foster a supportive work environment.
• Work closely with Tax, FP&A, Financial Reporting, and other business units to build and implement solutions that ensure seamless operations.
• Collaborate with auditors to provide accurate and timely submission of requested documentation.
• Perform ad hoc duties and analysis as assigned by management.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices.
