ABOUT KEH
KEH is the world’s largest reseller of pre-owned camera gear and a trusted name for photographers, videographers, and creators. Founded in 1979, the company maintains an inventory of more than 55,000 items, serves a loyal community of professional and enthusiast photographers, and has built its reputation on an industry-standard equipment grading system, a 180-day warranty, and a customer experience consistently ranked among the best in online retail.
The re-commerce market is in the early stages of a significant growth cycle as consumers increasingly seek to buy, sell, and trade pre-owned products. KEH is investing aggressively to capture this opportunity — expanding its product categories, growing adjacent business lines, and building the technology and operational infrastructure to support the next stage of scale. KEH is majority owned by D Cubed Group, a private equity firm.
THE ROLE
The Senior Accountant is responsible for executing critical general ledger and financial close activities while serving as the accounting team’s functional expert for NetSuite and related financial systems. This role combines strong accounting fundamentals with the technical ability to improve system configuration, reporting, data integrity, controls, and workflows.
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant performs detailed accounting work directly, owns assigned close and reconciliation areas, and partners with Technology/Systems and business teams to resolve issues at their source rather than relying on recurring manual workarounds.
The right person for this role is both a hands‑on accountant and a systems thinker who can move comfortably between journal entries and reconciliations, NetSuite configuration and troubleshooting, and cross-functional process improvement.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Financial reporting and the close — the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of assigned general ledger areas, journal entries, reconciliations, and close deliverables.
- NetSuite and accounting systems — serving as the finance-side NetSuite subject matter expert and improving the configuration, reporting, workflows, integrations, and controls that support accounting.
- Accounting data integrity — ensuring that subledgers, operational systems, imports, and transaction flows reconcile to the general ledger and produce reliable financial information.
- Internal controls, documentation, and audit support — maintaining well-documented processes and controls and producing accurate, timely support for audits, tax work, and financial reporting.
- Process improvement and automation — using NetSuite, Excel, AI, and other tools to reduce manual work, eliminate recurring errors, and improve accounting productivity and scalability.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Execute assigned components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes within the company’s close calendar
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, inventory and cost-of-goods-sold entries, and other assigned areas
- Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve reconciling items promptly
- Analyze account activity and period-over-period variances and prepare clear support for financial reporting and management review
NetSuite & Accounting Systems
- Serve as the primary finance-side NetSuite subject matter expert for accounting processes and day-to-day system issue resolution
- Build and maintain saved searches, reports, dashboards, workflows, accounting preferences, master data, and role or permission requirements in coordination with Technology/Systems
- Troubleshoot posting, mapping, subledger, integration, import, and period-close issues; identify root causes and coordinate durable fixes with internal teams and outside partners
- Support NetSuite enhancements, configuration changes, user acceptance testing, data imports or conversions, release testing, and system documentation
Accounting Operations, Controls & Audit
- Maintain assigned general ledger areas and reconcile accounting subledgers and operational systems to the general ledger, with particular attention to inventory and transaction data
- Ensure proper revenue recognition, expense classification, account mapping, and period cut-off in accordance with GAAP and company policies
- Perform and document internal controls, maintain accounting procedures, and identify control or data-quality gaps that require remediation
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external audits, tax filings, and other accounting or compliance requirements
Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Support
- Map, standardize, and improve accounting workflows across Finance, Operations, Technology/Systems, Payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Partner with business and technical teams to improve upstream data capture and ensure that operational changes are reflected correctly in NetSuite and the financial statements
- Use NetSuite functionality, advanced Excel, AI, and other automation tools to reduce manual effort, accelerate the close, and improve accuracy
- Create clear documentation, train users on accounting-related system processes, and support the Controller on special projects and systems initiatives
Team Contribution
- Operate as a highly accountable senior individual contributor who owns work from initial analysis through final resolution
- Provide accounting and NetSuite guidance to other team members and help strengthen the team’s systems capabilities
- Communicate issues, risks, dependencies, and proposed solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, strong controls, documentation, and measurable productivity
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful responsibility for general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and the financial close
- 3+ years of hands‑on NetSuite experience in an accounting environment, including close activities, saved searches or reports, data imports, troubleshooting, and process configuration
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and core accounting processes, together with advanced Excel skills
- Strong technical and systems aptitude, including the ability to understand accounting data flows and integrations, identify root causes, and translate business needs into durable system and process solutions
Preferred
- CPA, CPA candidate, or public accounting experience
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, re-commerce, or another inventory-intensive business
- Experience with NetSuite implementations or major enhancements and tools such as SuiteAnalytics, SuiteFlow, Fixed Assets Management, SQL, SuiteScript, and API-based integrations
- Experience scaling accounting processes and controls in a growing company and using AI or automation to improve accounting productivity
WHO YOU ARE
You are an ambitious and hard‑working accounting professional with strong judgment, technical curiosity, problem‑solving skills, and exceptional attention to detail. You do not accept recurring manual workarounds when the underlying accounting or systems issue can be fixed. WHY KEH
KEH is a consistently profitable and high‑growth company, driving its scale, processes, systems, and overall sophistication at once, and doing so in a prudent, financially disciplined way — focused on building a long‑term great company rather than growing for growth’s sake. It is majority‑held by an investment firm whose core orientation is building companies into those which are long‑term great and investing into a company rather than pulling funds from it. For a hard‑working, technically capable Senior Accountant, this is a rare opportunity to play a meaningful role in improving the accounting and systems backbone — including NetSuite, controls, data quality, and reporting — that will support the company’s continued growth and provide significant opportunities for learning and advancement.
