Job summary

Roof Penetration Housing (RPH) in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead core accounting processes and monthly close. This full-time, in-office role reports to the Accounting Manager and covers GL, AP, AR, cash application, commissions, audits, and reporting.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of progressive accounting experience, a bachelor’s in accounting, and preferably CPA progress. NetSuite and Excel proficiency required; travel up to 5% may be required.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• CPA or active progress toward CPA preferred.
• Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred.
• NetSuite experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills preferred.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all assigned non-inventory month-end close schedules, reconciliations, accruals, journal-entry support, and underlying financial reporting schedules; research and resolve reconciling items and account variances.
• Maintain audit-ready support and complete assigned close responsibilities on time to support a 10-day monthly close target.
• Perform first-level review of AP activity flowing from Emburse Enterprise into NetSuite, ensuring bills are imported and coded appropriately and investigating exceptions, discrepancies, and vendor issues.
• Manage routine customer collections and aging follow-up, identify overdue accounts for escalation, and communicate with customers regarding payment.
• Apply customer cash receipts timely and accurately, research unapplied or misapplied cash, and reconcile customer account discrepancies.
• Own preparation of sales representative commission reporting, including NetSuite calculations, Excel adjustments, commission accruals, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with Sales and representatives to submit commission reporting for review and final approval.
• Prepare audit/PBC schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation, assist with 1099s, sales-tax support, payroll reconciliations, and other compliance activities.
• Assist with documentation and maintenance of accounting SOPs and related process support.
• Effectively use NetSuite, Emburse, Excel, and other systems while monitoring automated workflows and resolving exceptions.
• Support continuous process improvement, automation adoption, system testing, and accounting process documentation.
