Job summary

LHH is seeking a Senior Accountant for a consulting engagement in the Indianapolis market. The role focuses on supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and critical financial operations within a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience with major ERP systems. A CPA is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
• CPA designation preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement fluctuations.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
• Collaborate with finance and operational teams on special projects.
