Job summary

Seattle Search Group is seeking a Senior Accountant for a private, multi-entity organization. You will own the accounting process end-to-end with a hands-on approach, emphasizing accuracy, service, and long-term relationships.

The role offers a hybrid schedule: about 3 days in the office, 1 day on a ranch property in San Mateo County, and 1 day remote, with an excellent benefits package and long-term career potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience managing the month-end close process.
• Strong accounts payable experience.
• Experience preparing financial statements.
• Experience with reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
• Multi-entity accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with inventory, agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, livestock, or cost accounting is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-based accounting systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger for multiple operating entities.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Manage the month-end close process.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Own the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice coding, approvals, vendor setup, payment processing, and vendor communications.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and other balance-sheet accounts.
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Track operating expenses across multiple business lines.
• Assist with inventory and cost accounting activities.
• Monitor cash activity and assist with cash-flow reporting.
• Maintain fixed-asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Prepare annual 1099 reporting and support outside tax advisors with year-end schedules.
• Assist with accounting system enhancements and process improvements.
• Maintain organized electronic accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Partner with operations personnel to ensure financial information is recorded accurately and timely.
• Support additional entities and special accounting projects as the organization continues to grow.
