Monomoy Advisors is looking for an entrepreneurial, highly motivated, experienced, detail oriented and consultative professional to join our growing team as Senior Accountant. As a key member of the team, this individual will assist clients with the daily operations of their accounting and finance departments.

In this highly visible role, the candidate will show their ability to combine analytical skills with a knowledge of accounting principles. This role will be ever changing and will require the candidate to be flexible and open-minded, while being detail oriented and capable of helping create accounting processes for fast‑growing companies. This role will be reporting to the Controller/CFO and will be an integral part of the finance function. The individual for this role needs to be ambitious with a keen eye for details, who wants to work in a fast‑paced environment and gain exposure to various roles across various clients.

In This Opportunity, Your Main Responsibilities Will Include:

• Maintain client’s chart of accounts
• General Ledger oversight
• Perform monthly and annual close processes; complete month end close checklist for CFO/Controller review
• Create/review monthly journal entries
• Perform/review monthly account reconciliations
• Manage the AP inbox and upload approved vendor invoices into the General Ledger; resolve vendor related issues, add new vendors as needed
• Assist CFO/Controller with annual audit and tax return preparation as needed
• Assist CFO/Controller with budgeting and forecasting activities as needed
• Assist CFO/Controller with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc financial reports

Experience, Education, and Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

• 5+ years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferred
• Big 4 / Public accounting experience required, CPA candidate preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP, accounting theory, principles and practices
• Ability to describe accounting systems and processes in written correspondence and in procedure manual format
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of computer information systems to present financial information
• Ability to prioritize in fast paced environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
