Job summary

BHI Senior Living is seeking a Senior Accountant in Minnesota to support monthly close activities and financial reporting for our Life Plan Communities. You will work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager, VP of Financial Operations, and community teams to ensure accurate, timely financial statements.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least five years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living, and strong written and verbal

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in finance or accounting with increasing responsibility.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct the monthly close process for assigned communities in collaboration with your supervisor.
• Maintain the close calendar and ensure materially accurate financial statements are prepared and released within established deadlines.
• Prepare and review monthly bank account reconciliations for assigned communities.
• Prepare and post monthly closing journal entries.
• Prepare spreadsheets and supporting documentation for annual audits of BHI Senior Living, Inc. and its affiliates.
• Maintain and reconcile intercompany balances for assigned communities.
• Assist with preparing tax filings, including Forms 990 and 1120, and addressing other tax-related matters.
• Partner with the Senior Accounting Manager, VP of Financial Operations, and corporate and community staff to support general accounting functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Accounting Manager or VP of Financial Operations.
