Job summary

Hounen Solar America Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant for the manufacturing sector to own the general ledger and influence monthly closes, financial reporting, and audits. You will partner with the Senior Finance Manager and VP Finance to improve processes and scale the finance function.

You will manage full-cycle accounting, drive close cycles, ensure accuracy of statements, support ERP enhancements, and lead ad hoc analyses as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own the full-cycle general ledger, including journal entries and accruals.
• Lead month-end and year-end close, coordinating with FP&A, Tax, and Operations.
• Maintain GL integrity and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, analyses, and schedules.
• Serve as primary accounting contact for external audits; respond to auditor requests.
• Assist with tax, compliance, and other financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and speed up close.
• Modernize and automate accounting workflows; support ERP, AP, and expense tech improvements.
• Take on ad hoc analyses and special projects.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Accountant to own the general ledger function and play a key role in how our finance team scales. You'll report to the Senior Finance Manager, partner with the VP Finance and other finance team, and have real influence on the monthly close process, financial reporting, the annual audit, and continuous process improvement.

What You'll Do

• Own the full-cycle general ledger, from journal entries and accruals to account reconciliations and monthly financial statements
• Lead the month-end and year-end close on schedule, coordinating with FP&A, Tax, and Operations
• Maintain GL integrity and investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare monthly financial statements, account analyses, and supporting schedules
• Serve as a primary accounting contact for external audits, preparing PBC schedules and responding to auditor requests
• Assist with tax, compliance, and other financial reporting requirements
• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and make the close faster, more accurate, and more scalable
• Help modernize and automate accounting workflows, and support ERP, AP, and expense technology improvements
• Take on ad hoc analyses and special projects as the company grows
