Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger management, and accounting operations within an established industrial organization in Duluth, GA.

This hands-on senior role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, independent decision-making, and the ability to manage complex accounting responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5-6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum 2 years of SAP experience.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, and complex formulas.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial accounting principles.
• Demonstrated ownership of month-end close activities.
• Experience in corporate or manufacturing accounting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Preferred: CPA designation or active pursuit; IFRS knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare journal entries and manage month-end, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Maintain gross margin reports and calculate sales commissions.
• Support accounts payable, lease accounting, corporate credit cards, and revenue recognition.
• Prepare audit schedules, tax documentation, and regulatory reports.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and internal controls.
• Lead accounting process improvements and system enhancement projects.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
