Job summary

Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to own key areas of the general ledger, support month-end close, and manage inventory accounting. You will provide analyses that help site leaders make informed decisions and ensure reporting accuracy.

This contract-intensive position spans 9 months with a hybrid work arrangement. The role requires manufacturing finance experience, GAAP/IFRS knowledge, and strong Excel skills to drive process improvements and reliable financial

Qualifications

• Technical accounting knowledge with manufacturing finance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or CMA qualification preferred.
• 5+ years accounting experience, including at least 2 years in manufacturing.
• ERP experience: SAP, Oracle, or D365.
• Advanced Excel skills; Power Query a plus.
• GAAP and/or IFRS understanding.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Run month-end close and journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Report monthly results through SAP Business Consolidation or similar tools.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, KPI dashboards, and site leadership presentations.
• Manage inventory accounting: cycle counts, reconciliations, and reserves.
• Support fixed asset accounting and capital project tracking.
• Investigate variances with clear analysis and explanations.
• Audit documentation and internal controls compliance support.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain to improve financial outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and automate routine activities.
