Job summary

Sierra Instruments, a TASI Measurement company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial planning, month-end close, and manufacturing accounting at our Monterey, CA facility. You will collaborate with Corporate Finance, Procurement, and Operations to ensure accurate reporting and meaningful insights.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years in accounting, strong Excel and ERP experience, and a CPA or CMA is preferred. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a team-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and cost accounting principles, including inventory and standard costing.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly financial performance analysis, including actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior year.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Analyze revenue, gross margins, cost of goods sold, operating expenses, and key financial performance indicators.
• Develop financial reports, dashboards, and management presentations to support business decisions.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, overhead, and inventory variances.
• Partner with Operations and Procurement to understand manufacturing cost drivers and their financial implications.
• Support vendor onboarding, maintenance, compliance, and account reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Corporate Finance, Procurement, and Accounts Payable to resolve vendor discrepancies and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and internal controls.
• Support ERP enhancements, process improvements, and special projects as needed.
